Hepatitis B

Hepatitis B

Gliese 536 b also known as GJ 536 b is a nearby Super-Earth sized exoplanet orbiting within the circumstellar habitable zone of the red dwarf star Gliese 536 every 8.7 days. Due to its short orbital period it could help with future studies of biological activity on exoplanets. This exoplanet is given the title Super-Earth due to its immense size which is more that five times greater than the Earth. Like many other rocky exoplanets, Gliese 536 b should be part of a large planetary group. Astronomers are still in search of other planets that are in orbit of star Gliese 536.

Dispersin B

Dispersin B

Dispersin B is a 40 kDa glycoside hydrolase produced by the periodontal pathogen, Aggregatibacter actinomycetemcomitans. The bacteria secrete Dispersin B to release adherent cells from a mature biofilm colony by disrupting biofilm formation. The enzyme catalyzes the hydrolysis of linear polymers of N-acetyl-D-glucosamines found in the biofilm matrices. Poly-acetyl glucosamines are integral to the structural integrity of the biofilms of various Gram-positive bacteria and Gram-negative bacteria and are referred to as PIA in Staphylococcus species and PGA in Escherichia coli. By degrading the biofilm matrix, Dispersin B allows for the release of bacterial cells that can adhere to new surfaces close by and extend the biofilm or start new colonies. Currently there is interest in Dispersin B as a commercial anti-biofilm agent that could be combined with antibiotics for the treatment of bacterial infections.

Scytalidopepsin B

Scytalidopepsin B

Scytalidocarboxyl peptidase B, also known as Scytalidoglutamic peptidase and Scytalidopepsin B is a proteolytic enzyme. It was previously thought to be an aspartic protease, but determination of its molecular structure showed it to belong a novel group of proteases, glutamic protease. The protease has a unique structure and a novel catalytic dyad E136 and Q53 in its active site. The active-site residues, glutamic acid E and glutamine Q, was used to coin the name of the family of proteases, eqolisins, to which Scytalidoglutamic peptidase B belongs. This enzyme catalyses the following chemical reaction Hydrolysis of proteins with broad specificity, cleaving Phe 24 -Phe and Tyr 26 –Thr but not Leu 15 -Tyr and Phe 25 -Tyr in the B chain of insulin. It also cleaves the His 6 –Pro bond of angiotensin I, the ability to cleave a peptide bond with Pro in the P1′ position is unusual. This endopeptidase is isolated from Scytalidium lignicolum. It is an acid protease, and is most active at pH 2.0 when casein is used as substrate. Eqolosins prefer bulky amino acid residues at the P1 site and small amino acid residues at the P1′ site. The substrate specificity of scytalidoglutamic peptidase is unique, particularly in the substrate preferences at the P3 basic amino acid, P1′ small amino acid and P3′ basic positions.

Phoslactomycin B

Phoslactomycin B

Phoslactomycin is a natural product from the isolation of Streptomyces species. This is an inhibitor of the protein serine/threonine phosphatase which is the protein phosphate 2A. The PP2A involves the growth factor of the cell such as to induce the formation of mitogen-activated protein interaction and playing a role in cell division and signal transduction. Therefore, PLM is used for the drug that prevents the tumor, cancer, or bacteria. There are nowsaday has 7 kinds of different PLM from PLM A to PLM G which differ the post-synthesis from the biosynthesis of PLM. Phoslactomycin B PLM B is the product of the post synthase of the biosynthesis of phoslactomycin and the intermediate to produce the other PLMs. The biosynthesis of phoslactomycin belongs to type I polyketide synthase PKS. A polyketide is are characterized by a macrocyclic lactone and is produced by bacteria and fungi. From the PLM B, there are many articles wrote about the synthesis of different PLM A through PLM G.
